Permission to be yourself

As crazy as it may sound, many of us spend A LOT of our life playing 'let's pretend'.

It goes something like this: 'Let's pretend...I'm really happy and completely satisfied with the way things are'.

Meanwhile, there's often a quiet (or not so quiet) yearning inside us for something more.

We might have the desire for a different lifestyle, more loving relationships, a new career or business, or a longing to express ourselves in more creative ways.

It's not that we lie to ourselves knowingly. It's just that we don't take the yearning seriously. We tell ourselves it's not such a big deal.

Besides, we wouldn't know where to start, and it's easier to stay the same. Sound familiar?

We often fail to realise that those inner cravings may be coming from our Spirit, which thrives on change and the opportunity to grow.

Our Life-force Energy, our Qi, can become stagnant - not only when we don't move our bodies, but also when we 'stay the same' for too long.

It took me a long time to wake up from the illusion that life is about 'getting to a comfortable place and staying there'!

Instead, Qigong has taught me that life is always beckoning us to push past our self-imposed limitations. In other words, in order to evolve, we must break free from our comfort zones.

By giving ourselves permission to listen to and follow through on our deepest yearnings, we get to discover more of who we really are.

And there could be no greater contentment than that!
