Experience the blissful feelings and self-healing benefits of Qigong (pronounced chee gung) in this replenishing candle-lit class.
Qigong combines deep breathing exercises, gentle stretches, mindfulness and flowing movements, to clear tension in the body and release emotional & mental stress.
We will begin by lighting candles and focusing our intentions on the energies we're ready to release and the energies we wish to invite into our lives.
We will then practice a sequence of standing stretch and flow exercises, designed to open the body's meridian lines or "rivers of energy" and connect you to your inner light - the joy within.
Next, we'll do some gentle floor exercises derived from an ancient practice known as Tao Yin (similar to Yin yoga) to help clear deeply embedded emotional stress, and enhance the free-flow of energy through the body, mind, heart and spirit.
We will conclude with a soothing guided meditation as we practise the art of surrendering to the flow of life.
Easier than most forms of yoga, and simpler than Tai Chi, Qigong does not require strength, flexibility, or complex co-ordination.
Beginners are always welcome!
