Qigong to Relieve Stress and Anxiety:

While stress is an inevitable part of modern life, a build-up of stress over time depletes us of vital energy and wears us down physically, mentally and emotionally.

If chronic stress or unresolved trauma becomes 'anxiety', it's as if our whole world shrinks, and we're unable to enjoy even the simple pleasures of life.

The good news is that both stress and anxiety can be alleviated once you know how to work with your life-force energy or "Qi".

In this workshop, you'll learn how to clear away stale, stagnant, unhealthy energy and regain your natural state of inner balance and tranquility.

You'll discover how you can respond to life's stressors from a calmer, more grounded centre, so that you no longer feel 'controlled' by your external environment and other people's energy.

You'll be guided by Holden Qi Gong Certified Teacher, Kerrie Womersley, who healed herself of anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia with the same self-healing practices that she now teaches to others.

You'll take home life-changing tools to transform ‘negative’ emotions such as stress, worry and frustration into ‘positive’ emotions such as peace, joy and kindness (especially to yourself).

About the Teacher:

Kerrie Womersley is the founder and owner of Find Yourself Qigong, which runs weekly classes in Cairns. She is a Certified Holden Qi Gong Teacher and has trained extensively with the internationally renowned Qi Gong expert, Lee Holden. Kerrie teaches a modern, easy-to-follow, principles-based style of Qi Gong.

About Qi Gong:

Qi Gong (pronounced chee gung) is the 'Self Care' branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, designed to prevent disease and prolong life. Qi Gong releases stress and improves energy flow in the body through slow, mindful movement, breathing exercises, healing sounds and self-acupressure. Easier than most forms of yoga, and simpler than Tai Chi, Qi Gong does not require strength, flexibility, or complex co-ordination. Find Yourself Qigong's classes and workshops are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Beginners are always welcome!

About the Venue:

The workshop will be held in the The Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre on Collins Ave (part of the Tanks Art Centre Complex). You'll find us in the room behind the 'Tank Sixty-Four Cafe' and Gift Shop. Free Parking is available in Collins Ave and surrounding streets.

What to Wear/Bring:

Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for gentle movement. You may like to bring your own yoga mat and/or meditation cushion if you have one. There will also be mats to borrow as well as chairs & stools available.
